Dutch drop volleyball match to Kohawks

PELLA – Central College junior setter Chapel Carter (Colorado Springs, Colo., Coronado HS) had 19 assists in a 25-22, 25-16, 28-26 loss to Iowa Conference foe Coe College Friday night.
           
Central falls to 8-12 overall and 1-4 in conference while Coe improves to 11-12 overall and 3-2 in conference.
           
Coach Jeanne Czipri wants to bring practice habits to the court.
           
"We need to find a better way to prepare mentally and physically for our matches," she said. "That is on me. We have the tools to do some pretty incredible things, but it is up to me to find a way to transfer that from practice to our matches."
           
Senior outside hitter Kylie Gerstein (Iowa Falls, Iowa Falls-Alden HS) had seven kills and senior outside hitter Mollie Mason (Iowa City, West HS) had eight digs and five kills.
           
The Dutch head to the Active Ankle Invitational Saturday in St. Louis, Mo. Thomas More College (Ky.) enters Saturday's contest on a 15-match winning streak and an 18-4 overall record. The nightcap for Central is tournament-host Washington-St. Louis (Mo.), who is ranked 21st nationally.
