PELLA — Finishing its home tournament with a pair of contests Saturday, the Central College volleyball team took down Cornell College after losing to the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.).
The Bennies (2-2) beat the Dutch (2-2) 25-16, 25-19, 12-25, 21-25, 15-13 in Central's first game of the day. Central later beat Cornell 25-14, 19-25, 25-19, 25-11.

Jeanne Czipri said. "It's been a gauntlet of a week. We battled and really started to figure out who we are this week."
Sophia Folkerts (senior, Dike, Dike-New Hartford HS) led the Central offense in both contests, notching 14 kills against Cornell and 16 against Saint Benedict.
Alex McNab (sophomore, outside hitter, Colorado Springs, Colo., Pine Creek HS) and
Maelyn Wainwright (junior, middle hitter, West Liberty) added 12 and 11 kills, respectively against Saint Benedict.
Grace Corey (sophomore, setter Watertown, S.D.) had 28 set assists against Cornell and 29 against Saint Benedict. Libero
Alexis Crowley (sophomore, Romeoville, Ill.) had 18 digs against Cornell and 19 against Saint Benedict.
McNab had five service aces against Saint Benedict and had five against Cornell. Central piled up 14 service aces against the Rams.
"I was really impressed with our service pressure against Cornell," Czipri said. "They're an incredible team, so I have a lot of respect for their coach and program."
Central hosts Luther College at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
"We're excited for Luther," Czipri said. "It's one more home game before we hit the road again."
