PELLA— A stellar start to the American Rivers Conference season continued Tuesday for the Central College women's tennis team with a 7-0 win over Buena Vista University.
Central (4-1, 3-0 A-R-C) shut out Buena Vista (1-3, 1-1 A-R-C) for the fourth year in a row and for the seventh time in eight matches.
The Dutch were especially dominant in doubles, only dropping one set between the three matches.
Seniors
Lauren Gano (Johnston) and
Emma Murphy (Liberty, Mo.) combined for a 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Murphy won 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 2 slot and Gano won 6-0, 6-3 in No. 1 singles. A third senior,
Rebekah Christensen (Marshalltown), won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6
Central now hosts Coe College on Friday at 4 p.m.
