PELLA— Katie Bower (Liberty, Mo.), a junior with the Central College softball team, will represent the school's Athletic Communications office at the College Sports Communicators Unite Convention in June.
           
Bower was among the 16 students chosen to attend the Division III CSC Student Program in conjunction with the convention to explore a career in Division III athletics communications. The Division III-focused program is a fully funded opportunity to gain hands-on experience, build your professional network and take the next step toward a future in sports information.
           
Bower has assisted the athletics communications office for two years, primarily in photography and social media content. Alongside athletics videographer Anthony Yench, she has spearheaded the department's increased preseason media day efforts. Bower also recently traveled to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships to photograph the Dutch track and field teams.
           
The CSC Unite Convention is set for June 7-10 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
