PELLA — A familiar face in the athletic training room, Oscar Silva returned earlier this month as the latest assistant athletic trainer .

Silva, who spent time last fall with the Dutch women's soccer as part of his master's degree program at Grand View University, now is a full-time member of the staff. He earned his master's degree in athletic training from Grand View in May. Previously, he finished his bachelor's degree in kinesiology and health promotion from Grand View in May of 2024.

A former collegiate soccer player for the Vikings, Silva also had experiences during his schooling at St. Ambrose University, Bondurant-Farrar High School and Lincoln High School in Des Moines.

Silva completes the five-person athletic training staff, which also includes Jake Schubert, Alyssa Criss, Sadie Brown and Katie Mayhew.
