PELLA— The American Rivers Conference announced its all-conference softball squads Wednesday and four Central College players were included.
Catcher
Rylee Dunkin (junior, Hamilton, Twin Cedars HS) and third baseman
Hannah Higgins (senior, Macomb, Ill.) were named to the first team while right fielder
Emma Anderson (sophomore, Forest City) and shortstop
Sarah Stufflebeam (junior, Macomb, Ill.) were tabbed for the second team.
Dunkin led the Dutch with 22 runs scored in 16 conference games. She had a .346 batting average and six extra-base hits. Higgins had a team-high .412 batting average, driving in 17 runs on 21 hits.
Anderson led Central with 10 stolen bases and four doubles while hitting .325 in league play. Stufflebeam hit .367 and had a team-high 18 RBI.
Central finished 29-12 overall and 9-7 in American Rivers Conference play, taking fifth place. The Dutch open the NCAA Division III Championships Thursday against the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) at 1:30 p.m. in Indianola.
