Minimal movement in national track rankings for Central

Both Dutch teams remain in top 15

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA — In the seventh USTFCCCCA Outdoor Checkpoint of the season released Tuesday, the Central College women's track and field teamstayed at No. 13 and the men dropped one spot to No. 7.

Points in the National Team Rating Index are based off placement in the National Descending Order Lists. The higher an athlete sits on the top-50 list, the more points he or she adds to his or her team's total. These points do not reflect placement or scoring at the NCAA Championships but are to show the individuals and teams that have the best chances at scoring well at said meet.

The Dutch have 11 men's marks in the top 50. There were no marks for Central in the top 50 this week. Kale Hobart (junior, Mason City) remains at the top of the decathlon list with 7,580 points.

Central has 13 women's marks in the top 50. The 4x400-meter relay squad of Ava Parkins (junior, Monmouth, Ill., Burlington Notre Dame [Iowa] HS), Alivia Roerdink (junior, Tiffin, Ohio, Hopewell-Loudon HS), Kennedy Petersen (freshman, Story City, Roland-Story HS) and Emily McMartin (senior, Pella) improved to the No. 9 mark in Division III by running in 3 minutes, 46.33 seconds at the Wartburg Outdoor Qualifier last Friday.

Central is sending a handful of athletes to the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier Wednesday and Thursday.
