PELLA — With ominous weekend weather forecast, the Central College track and field team hosted a Thursday night dual meet against Simpson College on short notice.
Team scores were not kept. The Dutch won 19 different events.
Senior
Olivia Bohlen (Belle Plaine) won the women's long jump (18 feet, 0.5 inches) and 110-meter hurdles (15.17 seconds).
Kale Hobart (junior, Mason City) won the men's 110-meter hurdles (14.65 seconds) and the pole vault (15-0).
Owen Tomko (junior, Costa Mesa, Calif., Fountain Valley HS) was the men's long jump winner (22-3.75), 100-meter dash winner (11.35) and ran on the winning 4x100-meter relay team (43.15 seconds) with
Jacob Birch (junior, Harlan), Zeke Nelson (junior, Clear Lake) and
Lance Bunde (sophomore, Guthrie Center, ACGC HS).
Emily McMartin (senior, Pella) anchored the winning the women's 4x100-meter relay team
(47.98 seconds) and started the winning 4x400-meter relay team (4:00.74).
Ava Parkins (junior, Monmouth, Ill., Burlington Notre Dame [Iowa] HS) ran on both relays and won the 100-meter dash (12.38)
. Mary Gustason (senior, Marion, Linn-Mar HS) and
Karlee Warnke (junior, Primghar, South O'Brien HS) were also on the 4x100-meter relay team while
Alivia Roerdink (junior, Tiffin, Ohio, Hopewell-Loudon HS) and
Danika Arnold (sophomore, Glenwood) were also on the 4x400-meter relay team. Roerdink added a 400-meter dash title (58.19 seconds).

Donovan Card (junior, Norwalk) in the men's 1,500 meters (4:02.88),
Jrake Van Hemert (senior, Pella) in the men's 400-meter dash (51.01 seconds),
Kyra Cordes (freshman, Marion) in the women's 800-meter run (2:22.12) and the men's 4x400-meter relay team (3:26.67) of
Jimmy Seeman (sophomore, Grimes, Dallas Center-Grimes HS), Van Hemert,
Elijah Ajiri (freshman, Urbandale) and
Alex Volden (sophomore, Cedar Rapids, Kennedy HS)
Central will split in three different directions next week: hosting the Dutch Spring Multi, the Jim Duncan Invitational hosted by Drake University Friday and the Dick Young Invitational hosted by Grinnell College Saturday.
