Augustana trips up Central women’s tennis team

Dutch women lose non-conference match

Box Score IOWA CITY— For the fourth match in a row to start the spring, the Central College women's tennis team played a one-point match in a 4-3 loss to Augustana College (Ill.) Wednesday.
           
Central (7-7) suffered its second loss of the spring against the Vikings (6-7).
           
Sidney Peterson (freshman, Johnston) and Rebekah Christensen (junior, Marshalltown) are now 4-0 in singles this spring after notching easy wins at No. 5 (6-2, 6-0) and No 6 (6-0, 6-2), respectively.
           
Emily Blom (sophomore, Pella) was 2-0 on the night after a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles and taking the No. 3 doubles match 6-3 with Peterson.
           
Central travels to Mount Vernon for a 2 p.m. match against Cornell College on Sunday, April 12.
