Men's Track and Field

Dutch sweep league’s men’s track and field weekly honors

Central's Meyer and Bunde recognized

PELLA— Another weekend of strong performances gave the Central College men's track and field team two more American Rivers Conference Performers of the Week Monday.

Gunner Meyer (senior, Fairbank, Wapsie Valley HS)
took the track events award while Lance Bunde (sophomore, Guthrie Center, ACGC HS) was the field events honoree.

The teammates shared the high jump title at the Darren Young Classic hosted by Grinnell College Saturday, clearing 6 feet, 8.75 inches. That mark has them tied for No. 8 in Division III.

Meyer was chosen for as the track events winner after running a time of 7.90 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles prelims. It lowers the school record he set earlier this season and moves him to No. 3 in the country

It's the fourth and fifth weekly honors for the Dutch men's track and field program this indoor season. Meyer previously won Track Performer of the Week on December 15.
