INDIANOLA — A 21-0 run in the first half featured five 3-pointers by Simpson College in a 94-79 loss for the Central College men's basketball team Wednesday.
Central (7-8, 0-6 American Rivers Conference) was leading 24-20 when Simpson (7-8, 4-2 conference) rattled off 21 consecutive points to take a 17-point lead. The Dutch chipped away and got the deficit as low as nine in the second half but could not retake the lead.

Anthony Gott (sophomore, Davenport, North Scott HS and guard
Kyle Cason (freshman, Grimes, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) had impressive scoring nights for the Dutch. Cason had a team-high 23 points while Gott added a career-best 20. Cason also led the team with seven rebounds while Gott had six.
Braylon Thomsen (freshman, Carbon Cliff, Ill., Davenport Assumption [Iowa] reached double figures with 11 points and
Bradley Curren (junior, Harlan) contributed nine points.
Central hosts Wartburg College Saturday at 4 p.m.
