Hamline upends Central volleyball team in five sets

Duthc start Minnesota trip with a loss

SAINT PAUL, MINN. — Despite 21 kills from outside hitter Leslie Snow (senior, Olivia, Minn., BOLD HS), the Central College volleyball team lost 25-27, 25-18, 16-25, 25-20, 15-10 Friday night.
           
Central (3-3) got a monster game from Snow who had a team-high 17 digs to go with her 21 kills. Fellow outside Paige Sexton (junior, Sheridan, Ill., Serena HS) also had 15 kills.
           
"Tonight was a well-contested battle" coach Jeanne Czipri said. "I was most impressed with Leslie and Paige who really worked hard to find ways to score."
           
Makayla Ribble (senior, Iowa City) led
the team with 17 assists and three service aces. Kaitlyn Mumm (junior, Waukee, Des Moines Christian HS) had three block assists
           
"We learned a lot about ourselves today and will take that going into Saturday and next week," Czipri said.
           
Central has matches Saturday against St. Catherine University (Minn.) at 11 a.m. the University of Wisconsin-Superior at 2 p.m.
