Parking information for home football Saturdays released

PELLA—With the start of the Central College football season just weeks away, new parking regulations are set to take effect for the upcoming season.

The primary parking lot at the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex has seen a noticeable increase in tailgating traffic over the last few football seasons. To prioritize fan safety, Central is putting new protocols in place. Access to the parking lot starts at 9:30 a.m. and is only available at the south entrance. The cost is $10 per car and $20 for an RV.

"It's been exciting to see the fan atmosphere that has developed at our football games," Vice President for Athletics Eric Van Kley said. "It's important that we control the space to keep everybody safe and allow them to enjoy the activities.

Additional paid parking will be available at the baseball field north of the stadium. Tailgaters from visiting teams are encouraged to use this option. This lot will open at 10 a.m. and cost is also $10 per car and $20 for an RV.

These regulations are only in effect for Central's home varsity football games but prices apply to attendees of all home sporting events on September 13 (men's soccer), September 27 (men's and women's soccer), November 1 (volleyball) and November 15 (women's basketball).

Central opens its home schedule on Saturday, September 13 against Randolph-Macon College (Va.). at 1 p.m.
