RIVER FALLS, WIS. — The Central College women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Saturday.
Central (4-1-1) and Wis.-River Falls (6-1-0) both fired off 10 shots apiece, but the Falcons found the back of the net twice in a nine-minute span of the fist half. Both of their goals were sandwiched around Central's only tally from
Piper Eighmy (junior, Birmingham, Ala., Briarwood Christian HS) via a
Rylee Rustad (junior, Gilbert, Ariz., Casteel HS) assist in the 35th minute.
"It was a competitive match between two good teams," Kobylinki said. "This team is resilient, and we made some good adjustments at halftime to feel we challenged the territorial battle. Their coach and program is very good and it was a fun match to play."
Eighmy's fifth straight game with a goal matches a school record set in 2012 by Alayna Bailey.

Zoey Sizemore (junior, Omaha, Neb., Mercy HS) made two saves.
The Dutch are home Tuesday against Grinnell College at 4:30 p.m.
"We have been on the road for essentially a month now so to be sitting where with one loss in six matches is a good feeling," Kobylinski said. "It was a fair result today and we will be ready Tuesday."
