JACKSONVILLE, ILL. — Getting two match wins at the Illinois College Invitational Saturday, the Central College volleyball team ran its winning streak to six.
Central (11-5) swept Kenyon College (Ohio) 25-21, 25-20, 25-19 and defeated the hosts in four sets 20-25, 27-25, 25-12, 25-18.
"We got the job done today," coach
Jeanne Czipri said. "It was good to see the things we have been focusing on this week come alive and being worked through in the matches. There are still always things to continue to improve on, but we have seen a lot of growth in very specific areas this season."
Leslie Snow (senior, Olivia, Minn., BOLD HS) led the Dutch in kills in each match, notching 16 against Kenyon and 13 against Illinois College. Libero
Colleen Kenney (senior, Taylor Ridge, Ill., Rock Island Alleman HS) had 15 digs against Kenyon and 19 against Illinois College
Setter
Makayla Ribble (senior, Iowa City) 18 assists against Kenyon and 16 against Illinois College. Her first against Illinois College was the 1,000th of her Central career.
Middle hitter
Maelyn Wainright (sophomore, West Liberty) had a season-high six blocks against Illinois College.
Central hosts Nebraska Wesleyan University at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the American Rivers Conference opener.
