MENOMONIE, WIS. — Breaking a scoreless affair in the 79th minute, Alejo Marcon (senior, Resistencia, Argentina, Pella Christian HS) scored a goal directly off a corner kick to give the Central College men's soccer team a 1-0 win Saturday against the University of Wisconsin – Stout.
           
Central (3-2-2) outshot Wis.-Stout (1-6-2) by a 23-5 margin but it took one of the team's eight corner kicks to secure the win. The Blue Devils goalie got a piece of the ball but not enough to prevent it from going in the back of the net.
           
Goalie Morgan Finkenbinder (sophomore, Elkhorn, Neb., Skutt Catholic HS) had his three shutout of the season, making a pair of saves. He's helped the Dutch yield just one goal in the last three matches.
           
The Dutch host Cornell College at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
