GREENVILLE, ILL. — Two goals off the bench by Central College women's soccer sophomore
Olivia DeVos (sophomore, Altoona, Southeast Polk HS) sparked a 3-1 road win Saturday at Greenville University (Ill.).
Central (4-0-1) found itself in a 1-1 tie after 55 minutes against Greenville (1-4-0). DeVos scored her first collegiate brace by finding the back of the net for the second time in the 65th minute. She added to her day by assisting
Piper Eighmy's (junior, Birmingham, Ala., Briarwood Christian HS) fourth goal of the season in the 77th minute.
Midfielder
Kelley Duffy (junior, Breckenridge, Colo., Summit HS) assisted on the second goal for DeVos.
"This win is a testament to our leaders," coach
Mike Kobylinski said. "It was a physical match and players showed their toughness and rose to the challenge. I am very proud of what we have here on this team. I have been doing this a long time and this is a true team."
Goalkeeper
Zoey Sizemore (junior, Omaha, Neb., Mercy HS) made one save and faced seven total shots in the win.
The Dutch are home Wednesday against the University of Wisconsin – Platteville at 4:30 p.m.
