GRINNELL—The Central College men's cross country team took the team title at the Les Duke Invitational hosted by Grinnell College Saturday morning.
Running on the 8,000-meter course at the Grinnell College Golf Course, Central compiled 37 points and finished in front of runner-up Simpson College's total of 54.
Jack Brown (junior, Norwalk) was once again Central's top finisher, clocking in at 26:21.7 to place second.
William Wadsley (junior, Gilbert) was third overall in a time of 26:24.6.
Donovan Card (junior, Norwalk) gave the Dutch a third runner in the top 10 by placing eighth (27:22.5).
Jack Every (sophomore, Grimes, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) was 11th (27:41.9) and
Andrew Mahaffey (sophomore, Guthrie Center, ACGC HS) was 13th (27:44.5) to close out the scoring section of Central's lineup.
Austin Vander Werf (sophomore, Saint Charles, Interstate 35 HS) was 15th (27:50.0) and
James Brant (sophomore, Tama, South Tama HS) was 17th (28:04.4) to complete the varsity seven.
Central hosts the Dutch Open on Friday, September 26 amidst Central's Homecoming weekend activities.
