Men's Cross Country

Dutch quintet completes cross country season at national meet

SPARTANBURG, S.C.— Five members of the Central College cross country program put a bow on their 2025 season by competing at the NCAA Division III Championships Saturday morning.
           
The top finisher for the Dutch was Peyton Steffen (senior, Marion), who completed the 6,000-meter women's race in 22 minutes and 31.6 seconds for 71st place.  Freshman Maddy Stevens (Grimes, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) finished in 22:54.2 to take 115th in her national debut. Teah Miller (junior, Iowa Falls, Iowa Falls-Alden HS) added a 261st place finish, crossing the line in 24:24.4
           
In the men's 8,000-meter race, Jack Brown (junior, Norwalk) was 87th in 25:13.8. William Wadsley (junior, Gilbert) was 208th in 26:05.2
           
Audrey Maclean of Middlebury College (Vt.) won the women's race in 20:16.8. New York University won the team title. Emmanuel LeBlond of Johns Hopkins University (Md.) was the men's individual winner in 23:35.0. The University of Wisconsin – La Crosse won the men's team crown.
           
Central's runners will move to the indoor track and field season. The first home meet of the season is set for Friday, December 12 at the Dutch Holiday Preview inside H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse.
