Dutch softball team now ranked No. 19 in latest poll

Central went 6-0 last week


PELLA— The Central College softball team moved up to No. 19 in the latest NFCA coaches poll.
           
This comes after a 6-0 week in which Central swept doubleheaders against Buena Vista University, Cornell College and Grinnell College.
           
Pitcher Emma Beck (junior, Holland, Grundy Center HS) also threw a no-hitter in game one against Buena Vista, Central's first since 2002.
           
East Texas Baptist University remains ranked No. 1 and American Rivers foe Simpson College is now ranked 22.
           
The Dutch play two doubleheaders this week starting Wednesday when they travel to Cedar Rapids to take on Coe College at 2 p.m., before they host Luther College Friday also at 2  p.m.
