Central women move up to No. 24 in newest national coaches’ cross country rankings

Dutch No. 4 in the Midwest Region

PELLA—After a second-place finish in the American Rivers Conference Championships, Central women's cross country team got a three-spot bump in the week seven United States Track and Field & Cross-Country Coaches Association Division III poll, which now puts them at No. 24 in the nation.

While the Dutch improved nationally, they remain at No. 4 in the Midwest regional rankings behind Wartburg College, who placed first in the conference championships and are ranked No. 20 in the nation.

The men's cross country team also had a strong showing on Saturday, placing third in the conference championships. However, the Dutch are still unranked nationally and remain at No. 6 in the Midwest regional rankings, trailing Loras College.

While this is the end of the season for some of Central's runners, others will go on to compete in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championships, taking place on November 15 in Waverly, Iowa.
