Central drops match in fifth set

PELLA— The Central College volleyball team put up a fight against No. 20 University of Dubuque before succumbing in a 3-2 loss Saturday.

Central (20-8, 4-3 American Rivers Conference) won the first and third set but ultimately lost 19-25, 25-17, 19-25, 25-20, 15-10.

"Today's match was full of energy, competitiveness and really incredible volleyball," coach Jeanne Czipri said. "We have so many players doing good things, so its hard to highlight any one individual. It's a testament to how this team has worked together and how important everyone's role is."

Leslie Snow (senior, Olivia, Minn., BOLD HS) once again led the Dutch in both kills (14) and digs (27). Sophia Folkerts (junior, Dike, Dike-New Hartford HS) added 12 kills and Kaitlyn Mumm (junior, Waukee, Des Moines Christian HS) had 11.
