PELLA— With its win by sweep Wednesday night against Buena Vista University, the Central College volleyball team finished in a tie for third place in the American Rivers Conference.
The Dutch (21-8, 5-3 conference) will be the No. 4 seed in the league's postseason tournament and host No. 5 Nebraska Wesleyan University on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
"I'm really excited to earn the opportunity to continue our season," coach
Jeanne Czipri said. "Tonight was certainly not our prettiest, but we got the job done."
The set scores for the Dutch against the Beavers were 25-21, 25-23, 25-16.
Leslie Snow (senior, Olivia, Minn., BOLD HS) reached double figures in kills with 12 while also leading the team with four service aces.
Paige Sexton (junior, Sheridan, Ill., Serena HS) chipped in with nine kills and
Kaitlyn Mumm (junior, Waukee, Des Moines Christian HS) had seven. Snow and Mumm both were in on two blocks. Libero
Colleen Kenney (senior, Taylor Ridge, Ill., Rock Island Alleman HS) had 18 digs and setter
Makayla Ribble (senior, Iowa City) had 22 assists.
