Central women slide to No. 29 in newest national coaches cross country rankings

No movement in women's regional list

PELLA—The Central College women's cross country team has a successful weekend, finishing in first place out of fifteen teams at the Dan Huston Invitational in Waverly. However, despite their triumph, they dropped a spot in week four of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III poll.

This now puts them at No. 29 nationally, right behind Pomona-Pitzer College (Calif.). The Dutch women's team remains at No. 4 in the Midwest regional rankings, sitting right behind Wartburg, who is No. 21 in the nation.

On the other hand, the men's cross country team, which also competed in the Dan Huston Invitational, finished in third place out of sixteen teams. Following this, Central traded places with Simpson College in the Midwest regional rankings, sliding to No. 7—one spot below last week's ranking.

Both teams will have a week off before competing in the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Illinois on Friday, October 7.
