PELLA — Neither the Central College nor the Loras College men's soccer team could secure a goal in a rain-soaked affair as the two teams tied 0-0 in the regular season finale Tuesday.
The Dutch (8-3-5, 4-1-3 American Rivers Conference) outshot the Duhawks (10-1-6, 4-1-3 conference) by a slim 11-10 margin, but Central was able to put more shots on frame (4) than Loras (2).
Nate Lampe (sophomore, Newton), Spencer Taylor (senior, Norwalk), Ian Gredell (sophomore, West Des Moines, Dowling Catholic HS) and
Isaiah Guyton (freshman, Davenport, Bettendorf) were all responsible for one shot on goal.
Goalkeeper
Morgan Finkenbinder (sophomore, Elkhorn, Neb., Skutt Catholic HS) made both his saves in the second half. It's the first Dutch shutout against Loras since 2000.
Central finishes the conference slate of games with 15 points, sharing third place and a first-round home playoff game Saturday against Nebraska Wesleyan University
