CEDAR RAPIDS — The Central College volleyball team fell in four sets on the road Friday night to start a key weekend of American Rivers Conference matches
Coe (13-7, 3-1 conference) finished on top of Central (15-7, 1-2 conference) 27-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-12.
"There were some really good things in the first and third set and even in the second," coach
Jeanne Czipri said. "I think we were a bit less balanced tonight offensively."
Outside hitter
Leslie Snow (senior, Olivia, Minn., BOLD HS) once again led the team with 15 kills while
Paige Sexton (junior, Sheridan, Ill., Serena HS) added 11. Setters
Landry Pacha (junior, Wellman, Mid-Prairie HS) and Makayla Ribble (senior, Iowa City) each had 18 set assists.
Colleen Kenney (senior, Taylor Ridge, Ill., Rock Island Alleman HS) had 23 digs from her libero spot and Snow chipped in 10 to record a double-double. Middle hitter
Maelyn Wainwright (sophomore, West Liberty) had four blocks and two service aces.
Central travels to Wartburg College for an 11 a.m. match Saturday.
"We're resetting and will be ready to tackle tomorrow," Czipri said.
