PELLA— A pair of big performances at home on Saturday afternoon were key to Alejo Marcon (senior, Resistencia, Argentina, Pella Christian HS) and Kaitlyn Mumm (junior, Waukee, Des Moines Christian HS) being selected for the American Rivers Conference weekly honor roll.
           
Marcon, who was chosen as the league's Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, played all 180 minutes in the back for Central during a 1-0-1 week against a pair of conference opponents. During Saturday's 1-0 win at home against Wartburg College, Marcon scored the game-winning goal in the 52nd minute.
           
Central travels to Decorah Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. match Tuesday night against Luther College.
           
Mumm had nine kills in both of Central's win last week. Against Wis.-River Falls at home Saturday, she had nine kills on 14 swings for a .571 hitting percentage. She had five total blocks on the week and a pair of service aces.
           
The Dutch volleyball team has two road matches this weekend, starting with a 6 p.m. contest at Coe College in Cedar Rapids.
