PELLA—Central College is among 187 colleges and universities nationwide to have both its men's and women's soccer teams receive the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award.

It's the 12th consecutive year that the Dutch women's squad has earned the award and the 15th time overall. It's the 10th award for the Central men.
           
Teams must post a combined grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2022-23 academic year to qualify for the honor. Coach Garry Laidlaw's men's squad posted a 3.12 GPA while coach Mike Kobylinski's women's team was at 3.47.
           
In the fall, nine Dutch women's players and eight men's players were named to the American Rivers Academic All-Conference squad.
