Colleen Kenney (Taylor Ridge, Ill., Rock Island Alleman HS) of the Central College volleyball team was announced as the American Rivers Conference Defensive Player of the Year Tuesday.
Kenney was joined by classmate
Avery Rexroat (sophomore, setter, Macomb, Ill.) on the American Rivers All-Conference team. Senior middle hitter
Elyse Johnson (Kirksville, Mo.) was cited as an honorable mention.
In eight league contests, Kenney had 151 total digs to average 5.21 per set. Her average was almost a full dig per set more than anyone else in the league She also contributed seven service aces and 31 assists.
Rexroat had 236 assists in the eight conference matches, averaging 8.14 per set. She also added 30 kills, 90 digs and eight service aces. She had five double-doubles in conference contests.
Johnson contributed 15 blocks, 41 kills and eight service aces during the league schedule.
The Dutch went 4-4 in conference, tying for fourth. They were 22-10 overall on the season.
