Why Central?
I chose Central because of the small school atmosphere and the ability to earn a college degree and continue playing golf. Both of these were very important in choosing a school which made Central appealing.
Favorite professor and why?
Dr. Shuger Fox is possibly the best professor or teacher I’ve ever had. She understands each student individually and wants the best for all of her students. She brings enthusiasm to every class, I never have a problem attending her classes or staying focused.
In your iPod?
I suppose I listen to a little of everything except death metal. But I mainly listen to anything my roommate is listening too, he’s a music geek. (Kacie Broeg)
You’re majoring in Business Management because?
I enjoyed the idea of a major appealing to many fields. I felt like I could do so much with this degree making it a great choice. Now that I’ve committed to the mortuary science field, it turned out to be the best choice for me.
Best part of spring break golf trips?
The time away from school has to be at the top. Kacie and I wiped the floor against our teammates as well which was fun. But the time with the guys is always a joy.
Toughest hole at Bos Landen
No. 1 is difficult but the toughest and toughest ever, No. 14. I don’t care if I play from youth tees, it’s incredibly difficult. Whoever made this hole must have gotten pleasure from the thought of how many balls will get lost on that hole.
What is your favorite quote or saying and why do you like it?
“It’s tough being the G.O.A.T.”
This quote pertains mainly to anyone who plays Mario Kart, especially in Nate Munn’s room. The Wii has consumed our lives and it’s known by everyone that I’m the greatest. I’ve been putting these guys on skates for months now.
Artist you’d pick to see in concert
I went to Florida Georgia Line last summer and they were phenomenal.
Favorite course you’ve ever played on?
I can’t pinpoint one because I have a bad memory of the courses I play. I really enjoyed this spring break in Arizona, the courses and weather was second to none. I imagine if the course was in good condition, I wasn’t complaining.
The one club you know you’ll hit pure every time
I really like hitting any one of my wedges, I can do a lot of different things, hitting different types of shots which is fun. No favorites really but I like to think I will pure it every time, unfortunately it doesn’t always end up like that.
Favorite TV Show
I don’t watch much TV other than sports. Go Cowboys and Cubs! But my favorite shows on Netflix are Criminal Minds and Last Man Standing.
The one thing people don’t about Coach Olson
He’s one of the best golfers in Iowa. I also think he is a secretive psychiatrist. His ability to push players beyond their limits and help players understand their potential is amazing. He wants the best for us in whatever we choose to do.
Why do you love Central golf?
The guys I’ve met on this team and the memories I share with them will be with me forever. I still keep in touch with guys who graduated years ago which is pretty cool. I have a lot of good memories with these guys.
“Ten years from now I’ll...”
Be married and have a family. I’ll be an owner of multiple funeral homes in Northeast Iowa. I will still be playing golf and enjoying my time with my family. I hope this stands true, but unfortunately I can’t predict the future.
Favorite food from Central Market
I’ve done some serious damage to chicken wraps and country fried steak over my 4 years here.
Bucket list
I’d like to go skydiving, it would be quite the rush. I’d also love to play golf at St. Andrews, or really anywhere in Scotland, the home of golf. Something reasonable I’d like to do is enter an eating competition. I think my eating ability is second to none.
