Why Central?
Coming out of high school I knew I wanted to participate in sports at the next level, so I really only looked at small schools. I chose Central because I knew they put an emphasis on students’ success in many different ways. Central has helped improve not only my academics, but my athletic abilities as well.
Favorite professor and why?
Professor Sara Bergman is my favorite professor because I have had many of my classes with her. She really cares about her students and wants them to strive to do their best. On top of that, she is always willing to help with anything. She’s very personable.
In your iPod?
Mainly Hip-Hop/Rap and Pop with a little bit of classic rock and up-tempo country. I have a lot of T.I., B.o.B., and Jason Derulo on there.
You’re majoring in Accounting because?
I am majoring in accounting because I enjoy working with numbers and seeing how different decisions can affect a business.
Favorite place you traveled on study abroad
This one is tough because I was able to visit a lot of cool places and each one was unique. I would have to say Rome. Everywhere I went in Rome, I saw architecture that is incredible. It’s like stepping into the past. Everywhere I would look there is something that caught my eye. The Coliseum and Vatican City were my favorite places of Rome.
Describe the best sandwich you’ve ever had
The Adam Emmenecker from Jethro’s. This isn’t your ordinary sandwich. The Emmenecker consists of pork tenderloin, buffalo chicken tenders, white cheddar sauce, fried cheese cubes, Texas brisket, bacon, and a cheeseburger all on a bun. And if that’s not enough, it comes with a pound of waffle fries on the side. I never try and eat it all myself, I always have someone to split it with.
Favorite childhood celebrity
Michael Jordan is my favorite childhood celebrity. I watched Space Jam so many times that the VHS stopped working. I wish I could have watched him play more when he was in his prime.
What are your plans for after graduation?
After graduation, I will be working as a Staff Accountant at Terex in Waverly, Iowa.
If you had to give up one of your five senses, which one you choose and why?
If I had to give up a sense, it would be smell. There are a lot of great smells in this world, but there are also a lot of bad ones.
What’s the animal you always have to see at the zoo?
I always liked to go see the big animals like the tigers, lions, and bears. But one of the most fun and active animals to watch is the otter. The otters normally like to put on a show in the water and on land.
Favorite TV Show
My favorite TV show is The Ranch. I think it’s pretty funny and Ashton Kutcher plays Colt Bennett perfectly.
The one thing people don’t know about Coach Walz?
At times, it can be impossible to tell if Coach Walz is joking or being serious. He has the exact same smirk on his face. Sometimes we have to ask him multiple times if he is joking or not.
Why do you love Central track and field?
I love Central track and field because I know we have one of the best programs out there. We have a great coaching staff that not only cares about us as athletes, but as people too.

Be married to my amazing girlfriend and settled down in a nice home with our family.

Fresh cookies on Tuesdays.
Bucket list
Travel to all 50 states. I saw a lot of cool things when I was abroad in Europe, now I want to see everything in the United States.
