Villa Park, Ill.
Class of 2027

Why did you chose Central?

I chose Central since from the moment I visited the college I knew it was where I wanted to be. From the people to the beautifulness of campus, I knew I had a home on Central’s campus. I’m from a large town near Chicago in Illinois and in Pella I found the piece I was always missing.

Favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor would have to be Professor Insko. I have two classes with him this semester and they are always the highlight of my day. He has really pushed me in the classroom to learn new information and is always able to help his students when something doesn’t make sense. If he isn’t teaching our class, he is entertaining it from his French Press to making balloon animals.

You’re majoring in Business and Computer Science because?

I started at Central thinking I wanted to go into Business my freshman year but when I started taking the classes I felt like I needed something else. So, after taking one class in Computer Science, I started to take more, find an advisor, and declare a second major. I’m not sure what I want to do with it yet, but my dream has always been to work for the LPGA. I would love to work in data analytics in sports but especially golf.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I’m also involved in SAAC Leadership, campus ministries, and I work for admissions.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I love country music some of my go to artists are Flatland Calvery, Treaty Oak Revival, and Toby Keith. But if I’m not listening to country music it would have to be Forest Frank and Giveon.

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

Playing golf here at Central has allowed me to grow not only as a person but also a player. I’ve developed skills needed in life like time management, organization, and leadership. Not only that but so, many doors have been open to me since I have played a sport here. Including going to the NCAA Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. If I wasn’t playing a sport the opportunity wouldn’t have been available.

What club do you trust the most in your bag?

I would have to say my 56 degree!!

Favorite professional golfer?

Cam Smith has always been my favorite but recently I’ve enjoyed watching Scottie Scheffler and Luke Clanton.

What Chicago sports teams do you root for?

Well sadly I have to say I root for the Chicago Bears, hopefully they can win some more games this season. Other than football I would say I’m a Cubs fan and I don’t mind watching the Bulls game here and there.

Favorite course you’ve ever played on?

I really enjoyed our trip to Pinehurst, North Carolina over spring break last year. We got play one of the Pinehurst courses with alumni from our school, so it was great meeting different people and playing golf at a great course. Another favorite would be Legacy Golf Links which we also played on the trip. The views were beautiful, and the course was in great shape.

Favorite TV Show

That’s a hard question but I would have to go with Netflix’s Drive to Survive Formula 1 show or The Rookie.

What’s it like to play for Coach Biggs?

Since Mackenzie recently graduated, I was lucky to play one year with her here at Central. So, she knows me well which allows me to be able to trust my coach. As our assistant in the fall, she was already helping me out with my game. I’m excited to have her as my coach to be able to get better each day out there with her. She wants what is best for her players and she’s always in your conner supporting you.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of the Central women’s golf team?

I would have to say being able to golf with my friends. All of us are close and it’s great to get to play your favorite game with your friends. We continue to push each other on the course allowing the competitive atmosphere to improve our games. It’s also great to play a sport outside and just enjoy the different places we get to play golf at.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

Hopefully 10 years from now I have a job, I’m not sure what I will be doing but know I will love everyday of it. I hope in 10 years I’m married with a family of my own living in the country and spreading God’s love to everyone around me.
