Coleman Manuel

Class of 2025
Why did you choose Central?
I wanted to experience living in a different culture and be able to play soccer. The smaller class sizes and beautiful campus helped seal the deal for me.
Favorite professor and why?
Dr. Benedict, he’s like this big loud teddy bear and after doing research with him last summer I not only learned a lot of information about prairies but anything I had questions about. He is like a fountain of wisdom and a great guy to be around.
You’re majoring in Biology because?
Because as a first year pre med thought this was the only major to get into graduate programs.
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
I am a member of Kinesiology club and work at KAC
Who are your go-to musical artists?
I have really enjoyed listening to Pharrell Williams recently.
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
Playing on the soccer team at Central has been a huge part of my life the last four years. I have had the opportunity to make long lasting relationships with my teammates and have really helped me become more social and break out of my shell.
What is your favorite professional soccer team?
I am not going to lie, it is hard for me to watch soccer, but I chose Liverpool one day and stuck with it.
What’s the highest mountain you’ve ever climbed in Colorado?
My buddy and I climbed Bear Peak one day and we chose to start at 6 pm, by the time we reached the peak it was pitch dark and our phone’s camera light was dead. Getting back to the car was rough to say the least.
What’s the best book you’ve ever read?
I read “You Can’t Hurt Me” by David Goggins last year and it was my favorite so far.
If you could be any animal for a day, which would you choose?
I would want to be an eagle to fly around the world and see as many countries I have wanted to visit would be awesome.

What’s it like to play for Coach Laidlaw?
Playing for Coach Laidlaw has been great. He has pushed me to become a better player than I was when I entered the program.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central’s men’s soccer team?
The people. The bond that I have built with these guys makes it very difficult to say goodbye to the seniors each year. I love how close I get with people.
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
I hope to attain my Anesthesiologist Assistant Certification and practice back in Colorado. I hope to have started a family with my girlfriend, by then wife, Becca and own a couple of pups.
