Why did you choose Central?
At first, I wanted to attend a large university. However, I thought I should look at a smaller college as well. After meeting coach Dunham and touring campus and Pella, I knew Central was where I wanted to be.
Â
Favorite professor and why?
This is a tough question. My favorite professors are the education professors. Walking through the education offices is always encouraging. Professors always acknowledge you and ask how you’re doing. Their goal is to make us great teachers, but also the best versions of ourselves.
Â
You’re majoring in elementary edcation because?
I’m majoring in elementary education because I love kiddos. Helping others is always something I’ve enjoyed and I feel blessed for the opportunity to guide young ones.
Â
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
I am a part of CTA (Central Teachers Academy), a program to gain extra experience in the classroom. I’m also a member of SAAC, which is Central’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Â
Who are your go-to musical artists?
I love country music, so anything in that genre. Right now, I listen to Ian Munsick, Luke Combs, Nate Smith, and Cody Johnson.
Â
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
Being at Central has not only given me my best friends, but Pella welcomed me into their community where I feel at home.
Â
What is your hidden talent?
I think hula-hooping. I’m not sure it’s considered a talent, but when I was younger, I dominated. I can hula-hoop for days.
Â
Favorite place to run.
Being from a small town, I’m used to county roads and endless circles in town. However, I love a good trail, usually a shaded one. Some of my favorites are in Park Rapids and Lansboro, MN.
Â
Pancheros, chipotle, or neither?
Pancheros, hands down.
Â
All-time favorite Disney Channel Original Movie
High School Musical, no doubt about it. My sister and I totally fan-girled when the third movie came out in theaters.
Â
Favorite TV Show
Obviously, The Office. I’ve seen every episode multiple times. Shoutout to freshman year when Caroline McMartin watched it for the first time. We may or may not have binged 6 seasons in 10 days while in quarantine.
Â
What’s it like to run for Coach Dunham?
Running for coach Dunham is a great experience. His passion and love for running is addicting. Coach tries to help all his athletes find this same love for running while supporting a team mindset.
Â
What’s your favorite part about being a member of the Central women’s XC team?
My favorite part of the XC team is the girls. No matter how meets or workouts go, they’re always there to offer support (even just to listen to me rant). We spend at least 45 minutes on a run together every day, so we’ve encountered all the emotions, which makes us even closer.
Â
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
10 years from now, I hope to be married and teaching elementary school, hopefully with a few kiddos of my own.
Â
Favorite food from Central Market.
Fresh cookie Tuesday and banana bars are my favorites. If you want to know what the dessert is in the market, Natalie Patterson and I probably know.
Â
Bucket List
Buy a white jeep. Visit all 50 states.
