Why Central?
I am at Central by accident in a way. I filled out the application and visited on Scholar Days. I loved the campus, but didn’t realize how amazing the place was until I got here. I was going to attend Midwestern State University at first, but my high school did not send the transcript when I asked and as a result I didn’t get enough financial aid to go there, so I chose Central instead. Best accident ever.
Favorite professor and why?
Mark Mills. He is so personable and effective at communicating math concepts. He understands what it is like to be a student and does everything in his power to make sure you can succeed. He has also passed actuarial exams to figure out what it is he is preparing his students for. That is dedication.
In your iPod?
Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5, Calvin Harris, Avicii, lots of other random songs. Just not country.
What do you plan to major in and why?
Double Major in Actuarial Science and Economics. I have always loved math and Actuarial Science is very math based. It is also a natural fit for me, as I am constantly analyzing and predicting what the future will be. That is a large part of the job. I also really like economics on a large scale and the statistics that go with them.
Place in the world you would most like to visit
Melbourne, Australia during their summer. I would love to watch the Australian Open tennis tournament.
Favorite sport outside of tennis
I have a ton of friends on the volleyball team, so I feel like that’s the right answer…
Dream job
A pro tennis commentator would be the best job ever. You would get to travel all over the world and break down the components of each professional’s game. I love statistics too and that is a big part of the game nowadays.
Describe your ideal breakfast
Over easy fried eggs, some wheat toast with strawberry jelly, a couple pancakes, and a slice of pie. Maybe a banana in there if I am really hungry. I forgot, for breakfast, I always love to eat cereal with water instead of milk
If you could sing a duet with one person, who would it be and why?
Justin Timberlake because my favorite song is What Goes Around Comes Back Around. That would be awesome.
If you could be an actor/character on any show or movie, what show or movie would it be and why?
James Bond in Casino Royale. I love Daniel Craig in that movie… but if we could skip the torture scene that would be great. I also love Poker and wearing suits/tuxedos so this is a good fit.
What was your first detention for?
I never had one...
What are your plans for the summer?
Study for the first actuarial exam and work at a fitness center so I don’t have to be this skinny when I come back next fall!
Favorite TV Show
Criminal Minds… Hotchner is my favorite, I like pretty much all the actors in that.
The one thing people don’t about Coach Ferrell
He was behind those funny posters of Josh Forst for the Roosevelt meet… he also is crazy. In a good way. The service line is also his favorite line.
Why do you love Central tennis?
There are too many reasons. The first is Josh Forst. He is such a good friend and role model. He leads to the team vocally and physically through matches and practice. It is going to be sad to see him go next year. Coach Ferrell is also a fantastic coach. He knows how to get you fired up to beat someone. I also love the variation in playing styles among the team. Almost everyone has a different racquet and a different way of getting the job done. I didn’t really have that in high school as much.

Hopefully have a great job and maybe a beautiful family! I also hope to be closer to God and maybe live somewhere cool in Texas or the East Coast.

Watch my favorite tennis player Stan Wawrinka play tennis in person. Go to the Swiss Alps. Volunteer for a mission trip abroad somewhere. Visit the Vatican.
