Why did you choose Central?

Ultimately I knew that going to a smaller school would be the best for my academics, and Central was familiar to me since both of my parents came here. It is nice to know that the professors here are so accessible. The opportunity to continue running was just an added bonus!

Favorite professor and why?

Professor Nesbit is probably my favorite! I have only had one class with her so far, but I felt like we did so many different things in class that kept it fun and engaging! I always felt welcome to stop in during office hours to talk about things in class or ask questions about the English major.

You’re majoring in political science and English because?

I am majoring in both Political Science and English with a minor in French. I have always enjoyed history and government classes and recently discovered that I really enjoy studying literature. I would like to go to law school after my time at Central to become a lawyer, and think that these majors will help prepare me for that too.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I was voted Scholte Hall Council President and I am involved in a variety of campus ministries. On top of that I love to go to all sorts of events put on by CAB or athletic events!

Who are your go-to musical artists?

This is a tough one because my playlists are constantly changing. Right now my top 5 would have to be SZA, 5 Seconds of Summer, KYLE, Jack Harlow, and Doja Cat.

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

Coming to Central and running have had such a positive impact on my life. I have met some of my favorite people and have had plenty of opportunities to discover what I want to do in life!

What are your summer travel plans?

Earlier this summer my family and I took a trip to England to spend some time in London and the Cotswolds (a group of villages in the countryside). I am also going on a trip to Colorado to support and cheer on my dad as he competes in the Leadville 100, a 100-mile bike race in one of the highest cities in the US! Right before we come back to school, the women's cross country team will be going on a team bonding/training trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

If you could speak another language, what would it be and why?

I would speak French! In middle school, we had to choose a language to take all through high school so I chose french. I guess the idea of traveling to Paris has just seemed like the coolest thing to me. Now, I have almost achieved a minor in French!

What do you miss the most about summers as a kid?

Something that I miss is playing with my neighbors and friends every day. Whether we were swimming in the pool, playing capture the flag, or having a lemonade stand, I remember always having a good time.

Which of your parents are you most like and why?

This one is tough too! I think when it really comes down to it, I am more like my mom because we have similar outlooks on life. We also both like to read and be outside. However, my dad and I both really enjoy endurance sports and like to read/watch non-fiction books and documentaries.

Favorite TV Show

My favorite TV show is probably New Girl. My favorite character is definitely Schmitt. If I am being completely honest though, I prefer to watch movies over TV shows.

What’s it like to run for Coach Dunham?

Running for Coach Dunham has been a great experience. Just having been on the team for a year, I can tell that he is truly invested in the sport and wants to see all of his runners succeed.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central Cross Country?

I love being a part of a team that understands how hard running cross country can be and is willing to put in that work to be the best they can. Making memories with my teammates has definitely been the best part of my college experience so far.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

10 years from now I hope to be working as a lawyer and traveling all over the world!

Favorite food from Central Market

If we are talking about just food, definitely the CTO Brisket Quesadillas. If we are including desserts though, definitely Fresh Cookie Tuesday.

Bucket list

I want to travel to every continent at some point in my life!
