Why Central?
I chose Central because of the personalized education it has to offer. The professors know people’s names, they make themselves available to help you outside of class, and they keep their classes sizes small of more individualized attention. They make my education just as much of a priority as I do.
Favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor is Keith Jones because of how he encourages me to bring my passions into the classroom. He cares about his students and their lives outside of psychology and he helps us create ways to take what we are learning and apply it to our lives outside of the classroom.
In your iPod?
On my Ipod are songs by Bethel Music and other worship artists. They are my favorite to listen to, especially before a big game.
You’re majoring in psychology because?
I am majoring in psychology and then going on to pursue a nursing degree at Allen College. I chose psychology because I think it’s important to understand how my patients are thinking and behaving so that I can better relate to them.
Teammate who you think would be the best partner for the Amazing Race
I would pick Kylie Gerstein to be my partner in the Amazing Race because we work well together and she is a tactical thinker and problem solver. Add in our competitive attitudes and charming personalities, I think we would succeed together!
If you were a character from the movie Frozen, who would you be and why?
I think I would want to be like Olaf. Because I like warm hugs and he is always so positive all the time.
Favorite place to eat in Pella
My favorite place to eat in Pella is El Charro. Most would say it’s pretty average Mexican food, but I think it’s the bomb.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I would have to estimate my shoe total to be at around ten pairs that I have with me on campus.
Celebrity crush
My celebrity crush would have to be Ryan Reynolds, especially on “The Proposal”.
Would you rather visit Hogwarts or Narnia?
I would rather visit Narnia because of the story that it tells. How cool would it be to have another world waiting in the back of your closet?
Favorite TV Show
My favorite TV show is hands down Greys Anatomy. I have shamelessly watched every episode on Netflix this past year. J
The one thing people don’t about Coach Clayberg
One thing that I don’t think many people know about Kent is his love for some of Justin Beiber’s love songs. He also loves drawing a self portrait picture of himself, you should ask him to show you sometime J
Why do you love Central volleyball?
I love Central Volleyball because I am surrounded by other young women who are just as passionate about this game as I am. We have a drive to succeed and work hard in the gym, weight room and classroom. The one thing I value most though is the unwavering passion we have for each other as players and people. It’s something that I truly believe makes Central Volleyball what it is.
"Ten years from now I’ll...”
Ten years from now, I hope to be enjoying a career full of working in a hospital on a pediatrics floor and taking care of children. A lot can happen in ten years, so I’m excited to see what happens.
Favorite food from Central Market
The cookies on “fresh cookie Tuesday” are my favorite food at Central Market.
Bucket list
Something that is on my bucket list is to start a clinic for women and children in Haiti. I would love to be able to give the less fortunate the proper healthcare that they need and make an impact in their world somehow.
