Why did you chose Central?

I chose Central because I liked how everyone was very supportive and welcoming. When I was getting recruited everyone was so nice and I knew that was the environment I wanted to go to school in. I also knew I wanted to go out of state for college and Pella was just far enough to where I was out of state but also close to home.

Favorite professor and why?
               
My favorite professor is Dr. Du Pre in the Biology department. I had her for one of my anatomy classes and I learned so much from her. She is so knowledgeable and supportive which really helps when learning anatomy. Her class has been my favorite class I have ever taken at Central!

You’re majoring in biology and exercise science because?

I chose to major in Biology and Exercise Science because I enjoy science and am love learning about the human body. I am also very indecisive and couldn’t decide which one I wanted to do so I did both!

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I am involved in InterVarsity, Health Professions Club, Dance Marathon, and I also work for Upward Bound.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

My music taste is all over the place, but I really love Kane Brown, Noah Kahn, Billy Currington, Drake, and Taylor Swift,

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

Playing basketball at Central has allowed me to meet so many great people. Not only have my teammates become my closest friends but they feel like family which I am super thankful for. I have also met so many great people off the court which has allowed me to make so many great connections, have so many great internship opportunities, and have great job opportunities.

If you could be any famous person, who would you be and why?

It’s more like a character, but I would be Meredith Grey from Greys Anatomy because she is a boss at everything!

What is the candy that you can never refuse and why?

I definitely have two types of candy. If someone is giving me candy, I would choose KitKats because I feel like they taste better when someone else gives them to me but if I am getting myself something it would be mini-M&M’s because they are the best M&M’s out there!

What is your ideal dream job?

My dream job would be a Pediatric Occupational Therapist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota.

If you could speak another language, which would it be and why?

I would love to learn Portuguese. My aunt is from Brazil, and I think it would be super cool to have a full conversation with her. She has taught me some words and they are really fun to say so learning the whole language would be awesome.

What’s it like to play for Coach Steinkamp

Playing for Coach Steinkamp has been a great experience! He pushes us every day to get better on and off the court. I have struggled with lots of injuries throughout my time at Central and the coaching staff has definitely supported me through it all!

What’s your favorite part about being a member of the Central College women’s basketball team?

My favorite part about being on the team is my teammates. We have so much fun together all the time it’s great to go into the locker room or practice and just have fun!

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

In 10 years, I hope to be a practicing Occupational Therapist in a hospital, living somewhere in the US with my family.
