Why did you choose Central?

I chose Central because of the Cross Country team culture and because of Dunham’s passion for me and the sport. On my overnight visit, I really enjoyed the wholesome time I spent with the team just playing games and spending time together. I also wanted to compete at a high level of running.

Favorite professor and why?

Mark Thomas. I enjoyed going to his classes and inquiring about and discussing deep philosophical questions. He is really understanding and enjoys leading students through discussion.

You’re majoring in business because?

It is broad with loads of opportunity, and nothing else seemed to be interesting enough to me.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I’m involved a lot in campus ministries. I’m on the Calm leadership team as well as Worship team.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

Crowder, Shane & Shane, Casting Crowns, Justin Bieber, NF, and Ben Rector

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

Attending Central and running has impacted my life in many ways. I’ve been able to learn what it means to be a leader and a friend. I’ve also learned what it means to depend and trust in the Lord and not on my own ability and strength. During my junior year of cross country, I got Covid 3 weeks before the conference meet. It shut my body down with fatigue among other symptoms. I went to the ER on the Thursday before the race and the doctors told me not to run. However, I ended up running the meet. I gave the race completely to the Lord, and His strength allowed me to not only finish the race but run to place 11th at the conference meet. So, I’ve learned that I’m not strong enough to do this life on my own. I’ve also learned that this life isn’t about me, I was created from and for God, and Him alone. (1 Corinthians 8:5-6)

Most scenic place you’ve ever gone on a run?

The most scenic place I’ve ever gone on a run would either be up a hill in California during the night looking over the city, or on the beaches in Florida.

What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten

The weirdest thing I’ve ever eaten would probably be raw clams.

What was the happiest moment of your life?

The happiest moment in my life is when God made known to me my sinful self destined for hell, and by His grace allowed me to accept His grace and gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ by repenting and believing.

Where would you go in a time machine?

I would go back to the medieval times in the times of kings and castles just to embrace the culture and the times because I’m a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit.

Favorite TV Show

Robin Hood, The 100, or Merlin

What’s the best part about Central’s track and field coaching staff?

The best part about Central’s coaching staff is that you can joke around with them and have fun.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of the Central College track and field team?

My favorite part would be the friends I’ve made who care about my entire life and not just my performance on the track.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

Serving the Lord wherever He leads in my best imperfect obedience.
