Why did you choose Central?

I never thought I’d end up at Central since both of my parents went here, but after my first visit I was sold. I really loved the community at Central. I’m a social person and love getting to see all my friends on the way to class or just walking around campus, so the small school environment really appealed to me. Getting the opportunity to continue playing golf in a competitive program also drew me in.

Favorite professor and why?

Dr. Fyfe! He’s always ready to answer any questions you have and really just wants to help you succeed the best you can. His Software Design class was an easy favorite of mine, and you can tell he loves what he does. I’ve been doing research with him this summer which while difficult at times, has overall been a fun learning experience! I also really appreciate Professor Goodman who was my advisor while I was considering a math major. He’s always been supportive in helping his students reach their goals, and is always down for a life chat during office hours.

You’re majoring in computer science because?

I love the logic behind programming. I was initially interested in majoring in Math, but I had a lot of fun taking the intro class with Professor Johnson. It can be frustrating at times when your code won’t work the way you want it, but those “aha!” moments when you figure it out really make it all worth it.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I work in the business office and have been doing research on campus this summer.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I love all kinds of music so it’s hard to choose just a couple. My friends know I have a playlist for pretty much any emotion or vibe you’re going for. I love classic rock, indie, country.... you name it! Some of my favorites are Queen, The Backseat Lovers, Dayglow, COIN, and Toby Keith.

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

I’ve always loved sports growing up, so getting the chance to keep playing golf has been amazing! I’m so grateful for all the memories and friendships I’ve made throughout the years.

If you could bring one fictional character to life, who would it be and why?

I’m a huge reader so I definitely have a whole list! But if I just had to choose one, then I think I’d have to go with Percy Jackson. Having a sarcastic friend who can control water? That’s pretty dang neat.

What animal best represents you and why?

I gotta go with a dog. I like to think I’m pretty friendly and energetic. And my friends definitely know how loud I can get when I’m excited so I think that matches me pretty well.

Toughest hole at Bos Landen

#14 should be the easy answer. It feels like a life size mini golf course with the amount of ups and downs there are and how narrow it is. But I think #10 is the toughest for me. With out of bounds on the right and a lateral cutting across and to the left, it’s definitely not my favorite.

Favorite course you have ever played

I haven’t had the opportunity to travel anywhere too interesting, so my favorite course is one I haven’t played since highschool. Metamora Fields is a fairly wide course that compensates for any wild drives you may have.

Favorite TV Show

New Girl and Criminal Minds are some of my favorites. Stranger Things is definitely up there too.

What’s it like to play for Coach Schumacher?

A lot of us know what parts of our game need the most work and what we need to focus on, but Coach is always there to see what we’re missing and how to fix it.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central women’s golf?

I love the team! I know everyone says it, but it’s really like being part of a family. I’ve made some of my closest friends through golf. But free dessert after meets might definitely be the best part (who cares about years of friendship when Insomnia Cookies is an option)

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

I’m still not sure what exactly I want to do with my life, but I just hope I’ll be happy wherever I end up. I hope I’m surrounded with friends and family, and with a successful career.

Favorite food from Central Market

The CTO Ham and Swiss sandwich paired with some Fresh Cookie Tuesday s'more cookies, hands down.

Bucket list

See a Broadway show
Visit the Smithsonian
See the Northern Lights
Travel throughout Europe
