Why did you choose Central?
I chose Central because a family friend kept coming home and telling me stories of how much fun he was having and how much he loved his classes. After visiting, I knew that the Central family was the place for me.
Favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor would have to be Dr. Pavlat. No matter how busy of a day he is having or how much work he has to do, he will always sit and talk to any Central students no matter if he has them in class or not.
You’re majoring in exercise science (pre-health) because?
I have always been interested in the human body but when I injured my knee our team doctor and his P.A were incredible to work with. The experience with our training staff and our team health care providers really pushed me into wanting to pursue that type of career.
Who are your go-to musical artists?
Anything country is always good by me. Bonus points if it’s former teammates Ed Henning’s band Tyler Richton and The High Bank Boys.
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
Going to Central and playing a sport has been one of the best decisions of my life. Central’s professors have pushed me way beyond what I ever believed my academic limits would ever be and the football coaching staff has instilled core values like teamwork, ambition, faith, and perseverance that I will carry on into my life after Central.
Favorite movie when you were a kid
Little known fact but as a kid I loved the Mamma Mia movie. No big deal but I can still sing every song in it.
What is your favorite Central College tradition?
As football players, we don’t really get to participate in many homecoming traditions, but I have always loved watching the Lemming Race. It’s awesome to see how excited everyone gets to participate in the homecoming activities and it makes playing in the game on Saturday that much more enoyable.
What's the best prank you ever pulled and who it was on?
One prank that never gets old is taking the roommates beds and hiding them somewhere else within the building. Nothing is better than having one of the guys come back from a tough day of football and studying only to have to search the entire building for their bed.
What do you refuse to share?
I refuse to share my any food I keep in the room. Ask any of the guys I live with though and I’m sure they will tell you I don’t refuse to “borrow” some of theirs.
Favorite TV Show
The Ranch. I have to love this show because one of our suitemates likes to pretend he’s a cowboy…J.R.
What’s it like to play for Coach McMartin?
Playing for Coach McMartin has been everything and more that any alumni will tell you. Coach Mac leads the program in a way that provides a blueprint to successful live life after football. Our entire football staff is composed of coaches who truly push their players to become the best men possible both on and off the field.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central football?
The best part of being on the football team is easily the relationships you form with your teammates and coaches. Being part of the tradition that is Central Football is amazing, but the friendships I’ve been able to create with teammates is even better than winning games.
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
10 years from now I hope to be a Physician’s Assistant and coaching my kid’s athletics teams.
Favorite food from Central Market
Fresh cookie Tuesday is hard to beat but I think Coach Johnson would rather have me say steamed vegetables or the four eggs every morning.
