Why did you choose Central?

I chose Central because I wanted a small school where I could excel in my academics while still being able to play the sport I love. Central had everything I was looking for including study abroad opportunities, a tight knit community, beautiful athletic complexes/fields and a welcoming environment. 
 
Favorite professor and why?

Dr. Shuger Fox in Exercise Science! She has been a great advisor and mentor for me throughout my years at Central. I have spent two summers in Costa Rica with Dr. Shuger Fox working on our Blue Zone research project and I could not thank her enough for the amazing experience! Oh and I can’t forget her awesome recipes she has shared with me! 

You’re majoring in exercise science because?

When I first came to Central I wanted to be a physical therapist but overtime I ended up deciding on medical school! If I could go back I would still choose Exercise Science as my degree because the professors and classes have really aided in progress towards medical school.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I am involved in undergraduate research

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

Attending Central and playing a sport has impacted my life in so many different ways. Being a part of the women’s soccer team has given me so many lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and taught me many valuable lessons. Playing a sport at Central has shaped me into a very dedicated and hardworking person, and allowed me to utilize my leadership skills. 

What’s your favorite book you’ve ever read?

I am honestly not into reading books at all. I think I liked reading the Hunger Games in high school.

What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten? 

When I was in Costa Rica touring a local farm the farmer chopped a termites nest off of a tree and got some of us to eat them! They tasted like crunchy dirt. 
 
If you received a salary to follow whatever passion you wanted to, what would you do?

I would combine my love for travel and medicine and be a traveling doctor, who knows maybe I will be one day!

The Office is my go to, but Breaking Bad and The Resident are up there.

What’s it like to play for Coach Kobylinski?

Playing for Koby is great! Koby is so passionate about the game of soccer and his statistics. Koby can tell you the score of probably every game he has ever coached. 

What’s your favorite part about being a member of the Central women’s soccer team? 

The women’s soccer team is full of so many different and amazing personalities so you never know what you’re going to get when you walk into the locker room or out to the practice field. You can never be bored when you’re with the team. 

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

10 years from now I hope to be a practicing physician and living in Iowa with at least 3 cats and maybe a dog. 

Favorite food from Central Market

I rarely eat there but my favorite would be the salad bar because it has a ton of toppings and salads just always hit the spot.
