Class of 2020
Brooklyn, Iowa

Why did you choose Central?

I chose Central because I had two older cousins who played baseball and football here, so I had been around watching them compete, and I enjoyed the small campus size. Also, coming to Central allowed me to continue playing baseball while getting a quality education.

Favorite professor and why?

I’m not sure I can pick just one, but if I had to, I would have to say Shelli Green. She is constantly challenging myself and my fellow senior athletic training students to step out of our comfort zone, and she always finds a way to avoid making anything easy. Just when you think you have an edge, you don’t.

You’re majoring in athletic training because?

I am majoring in Athletic Training because I enjoy the atmosphere of athletics and the drive athletes have to be the best. Seeing an athlete rehab from the initial injury and return to play is a very awesome experience, and the relationships you form with the athletes in the process make it even better.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

Besides athletics, I am involved in SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Council) , SAM (Student Athlete Mentoring), and CAATS (Club Associated with Athletic Training Students).

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I can’t say that I have a single go-to musical artist, but you can’t go wrong with 80’s rock.

What are your summer plans for 2020?

Right now, I am planning to head back to Brooklyn to make some money and play slow-pitch softball. I will also be getting married in September, so I should probably spend some time helping finalize the plans.

What’s it like being a triplet?

I get asked this a lot and I answer it differently every time, but I would say that I have really enjoyed growing up with two sisters. We are very different in many ways, but we are very close knit and are a pretty civil bunch (most of the time).

What is the weirdest scar you have and how did you get it?

The weirdest scar I have is probably on my eyelid. A wrong place at the wrong time moment on the baseball field led to six facial fractures and surgery a day later. Thank you Pat Diemer for the experience!

What was your dream job growing up?

My dream job growing up was definitely continuing the lawn mowing business I had with my sisters since 5th grade, except we would be able to drive to the lawns instead of having to ride our bikes.

Sporting event you’d love to attend

I think it would be a blast to attend the College World Series in Omaha with my fellow Ruth Mount gang.

Favorite TV Show

Most definitely Criminal Minds.

What’s it like to compete for Coach Schirm?

Coach Schirm is the kind of coach that is always looking to improve himself and how he coaches. I think it shows us that no matter the situation we are in we can always learn from it and get better.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central baseball?

It would definitely be memories made throughout my four years with the team. Whether it be spring break or a weekday conference road trip, I could ramble off stories for hours and laugh through each one of them.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

Ten years from now I will hopefully be working as an athletic trainer at a small college, enjoying the married life, and have a couple young ones running around.

Favorite food from Central Market

Cook to order eggs on Monday mornings.

Bucket list

Grow a mustache like Rece Martin.
Meet a Hawkeye fan with more dedication than Mitch Nierling.
Take a hunting trip with my Dad.
