Class of 2021
Normal, Illinois
Why did you chose Central?
The smaller class sizes really drew me in. I like going to class knowing that my professors want what’s best for me and the other students and they’ll do as much as they can to help us succeed. I also love that I’m able to play soccer while getting a great education. And being given the opportunity to study abroad was something I couldn’t get many other places. Central has such a welcoming environment and that’s what sealed the deal. I’ve been given so many great opportunities while making some of the best friends.
Favorite professor and why?
I really enjoy my classes with Dr. Rundle and Professor Summers. I’m always learning something new from them and they come to class excited to see the students! They keep it interesting.
You’re majoring in business management because?
I'm majoring business management with an emphasis in marketing because I love learning about how and why businesses market their products the way they do and what goes into the marketing process. I think it’s interesting how every company has different marketing strategies based on what they’re selling and who their targeted audience is.
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
SAM program, ICS Peer Instructor, and I work in the Athletic Department and with the Sports Information Office!
Who are your go-to musical artists?
I like a lot of artists, so it’s hard to just pick a few, but Dan + Shay, Ben Rector, Johnnyswim, and Calum Scott are some of my favorites. I like a lot country and worship music as well. My playlists vary and I love finding new music to listen to.
What did you do for work and for fun in the summer of 2019?
I worked for the Town of Normal Water Department back at home where I would put new water readers on the houses, enter data for the main office, and I even got to change a few water meters! I also spent time with my family and friends and went to a Kenny Chesney concert with my boyfriend which was a lot of fun!
If you could be a cartoon character for a week, who would you be?
Kim Possible. Our similar looks say it all and she’s pretty fierce.
What is your favorite joke?
What do skeletons say before they eat? Bone appetite.
If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it?
I’d save a lot of it, but I’d also give some to my mom so she can afford everything she deserves and more, and so we can purchase the island and pontoon boat us and our family friends always joke about. I’d definitely be making more trips to Target and Starbucks. And I’d also give some to charity!
If you had to create a slogan for your life, what would it be?Â
But first, coffee. I absolutely love coffee and I look forward to having a cup (or 3) every morning. All my friends think I’m obsessed, but I don’t understand why, I only talk about getting Starbucks a few times a day. Ask them and I’m sure they could tell you my go to order.
Favorite TV Show
Generally anything that NBC produces, so This Is Us or A Million Little Things. In one episode you’ll experience every emotion possible and I love how heartwarming the shows are. I also love Grey’s Anatomy and you can never go wrong with One Tree Hill.
What’s it like to play for Coach Kobylinski?
Coach Koby knows the game of soccer really well and he’s very passionate about what he does.He wants us to become the best players we can be so he’s always pushing us to strive for more, whether that’s in the classroom or on the field. He’s a great coach and I’m glad I ended up at Central.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central soccer?
I love spending time with all of my teammates. They make playing the sport I love that much more fun. When we’re together we love to have a good time. We’re always laughing with each other, and I love that we also push each other to be the best versions of ourselves on and off the pitch. They’re the best part of being on the team.
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
I hope to be settled down with a family of my own and I’d love to be working for a Big 10 school in their athletic department doing social media work or working as an athletic director at a high school.
Favorite food from Central Market
Build your own breakfast sandwich day. Breakfast food beats everything. I also love the soup and grilled cheese combo from the cafe.
Bucket list
See the Northern Lights, run a marathon, drive the entire West cost, and see Dan + Shay in concert. I actually get to cross one off here soon, because in March I’m seeing Dan + Shay in Nashville with my boyfriend!
