Why did you choose Central?

I knew I wanted to attend a small school not too far from home, and when I also decided to continue playing soccer, I learned that Central would give me the opportunity to play the sport I love while still getting an incredible education. Everyone I met on my visits to Central made me feel so comfortable and welcome, and I had so much fun doing an overnight with players from the women’s soccer team. Meeting my future teammates really hooked me on Central, and I decided this was where I wanted to spend my next four years.

Favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor has to be Keith Jones. Dr. Jones taught the General Psychology course I took my freshman year (and many of my classes since), which was the class that convinced me I should be psychology major. Dr. Jones guided my love for psychology and continues to be a great mentor to me today. The entire psychology department is simply amazing, but without Keith I would not be where I am today.

You’re majoring in Psychology because?

I am majoring in psychology because the minute I was introduced to the material I became fascinated. I never realized how cool Psychology was and I just wanted to learn more and more. Once I took the introductory level psychology course, I knew psychology was the major for me.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I work in the Admissions office on campus, and have had the opportunity to conduct research studies alongside my peers and Dr. Jones. One experiment I did with a group was the effects of competition on physical performance, and the other was an individual project about attitudes toward environmental sustainability. I was also able to attend the Midwestern Psychological Association conference in Chicago with my peers to present our physical performance project.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I enjoy a pretty wide variety of musical genres, but some of my favorite artists include J. Cole, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, and G-Eazy.

What did you do for work and for fun in the summer of 2019?

I am a server at a restaurant in my hometown called Prairie Canary, which I love to do. It has great hours and I get to meet people from all over! For fun I like to go to amusement parks and waterparks with my friends and family. But, my favorite summer hobby is co-managing a fitness/foodie Instagram account with one of my friends from home, which is called @runningongreenz. We actually do this all year round, but it is definitely thriving in the summer months. You should definitely go check it out!

Favorite professional athlete?

Tobin Heath

Where is the most relaxing place you’ve ever been?

The most relaxing place I have ever been was Tulum, Mexico. I went there with my boyfriend for spring break my freshman year at Central, when he was studying abroad in Merida. The city was so beautiful, and there was so much to do and see. We really enjoyed going to the beach and relaxing.

What is one of your best memories from your childhood?

I have so many incredible memories from my childhood, so it is really hard to only choose one! One of the best memories I have was when my family and I attached a sled to the back of my mom’s car with a rope so she could drive us around the yard while my siblings and I sat on the sled. It was a super rainy day so we would just drill these huge puddles and get completely soaked. I remember her whipping us back and forth around the yard and us just constantly flying right off the sled. Probably not the safest thing to do, but it was so much fun, and it sums up my childhood pretty well.

Would you rather be a famous musician or the next Einstein/Tesla?

Einstein for sure!

Favorite TV Show

The Office

What’s it like to play for Coach Kobylinski?

It’s a lot of fun to play for Koby. He’s very goofy at times and definitely keeps things entertaining. It’s obvious how much he loves soccer and he expresses that passion in his coaching each and every day. He is a very big numbers and statistics guy, which we love to tease him about sometimes. Koby is a great guy and a very dedicated coach, and it’s awesome to have staff who truly care the way he does.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central soccer?

My favorite part about being a member of Central soccer are the friendships I have made along the way. This team is like my family, and I have gained so many friendships that will last a lifetime. I don’t know what I would do without my teammates because they mean the world to me.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

In 10 years I hope to be married and to be a practicing mental health therapist. I would also love to live somewhere along the West Coast, while being able to do a lot of travelling.
