Why did you chose Central?

I chose Central because every experience I had on campus was extremely positive from my first visit on. Central offered a good education and study abroad program which I knew was something I wanted and gave me the chance to continue to play soccer. Most importantly I had that very stereotypical moment where you realize that this is the place for you.

Favorite professor and why?

All the professors I’ve had at Central have been really enjoyable to have in class. Dr. Keith Jones is one of my favorites though. I feel like he really lets me be myself in class and his classes are both challenging but enjoyable to go to. One of my favorite parts of the week was getting to go in on Mondays and discuss Game of Thrones with him before or after class.

You’re majoring in _________ because?

I’m Majoring in Social Studies with an endorsement in Secondary Education because I really enjoy history and I want to make a difference in kids lives. I really enjoyed my high school experience and a large part of that was because of my teachers and I want to have the same impact on others.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I am a part of the History Club that works on throwing the annual Range Day. I also participate in the group Everybody Wins Iowa! where we spend a lunch period every week with an
elementary student reading.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

My current favorites are Morgan Wallen and Jon Pardi, but all-time has to be Jake Owen.

What did you do for work and for fun in the summer of 2019?

This summer I am did the most Wisconsin thing and working in a cheese plant or as my friends call it a “cheese farm”. For fun I am spent a lot of time hanging out with my friends disc golfing.

Favorite Childhood memory

My favorite memory would be spending time with my cousins up north. There was one story involving a dead fish being thrown that all of us remember in great detail that's pretty funny depending what side of the fish you were on.

Any favorite karaoke songs?

If you’re not going to singing “Sweet Caroline” why even sing at all.

If you could choose one hobby that may seem out of reach right now, what hobby would you take up and why?

I would try to get into horse riding because then I would achieve my childhood dream of being a cowboy. The only problem is I’m afraid of horses.

Most embarrassing sport experience

I was playing in a coed summer soccer game and I was talking to a girl I went to high school with. My friends dad called me out for flirting with her loud enough for all the fans to hear. Everyone referred to her as my girlfriend the rest of the game and kept asking me how she was doing.

Favorite TV Show

The Real Bros of Simi Valley. Wade does not burn.

What’s it like to play for Coach Laidlaw?

It’s both really demanding but fun at the same time. Our team likes to joke around and have fun so we’re not always the most serious group. Gary lets us be ourselves and do that so practices are for the most part very enjoyable. However he expects a lot of us and isn’t afraid to let you know when you need to step it up.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central soccer?

All the friendships I’ve made being a part of this team. Going to practice doesn’t feel like a chore because it’s more like I’m spending time hanging out with my friends.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

Hopefully I’ll be teaching high school history back around my hometown and starting to raise a family.

Favorite food from Central Market

The burger bar. Nothing beats a fresh cooked burger

Bucket list

Run a marathon in every state.
Go to the Munich Oktoberfest.
Learn to ride a horse.
See the Dallas Cowboys win the Super Bowl.
