Why did you chose Central?

I wanted to find a place that I could play volleyball and figure out what I would like to do in the future as a career. After speaking with a representative from admissions I realized that a small liberal arts school would be the place for me academically. It was the people I met on campus as far as my future teammates and the administrators that pushed me towards my decision to go to Central. It was the best decision I could have made.

Favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor is Shawn Wick, who is my advisor and boss. He has always been one to look out for me and support me academically along with athletically. He has come with his daughters to many of our volleyball games and always asks for updates on the season and how everything is going. He is a professor that has exemplifies what it is like to learn at Central College, with giving you the knowledge, support, and opportunities you need to succeed along with making you feel cared for.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I can always count on good music from Chance the Rapper and Vance Joy, along with Danielle Bradbery. I really like a variety of different genres and these three are some of my favorites from all those different kinds of music. My longest lasting top artist will always be Hannah Montana, just ask Melissa Miller.

You’re majoring in sociology and business management because?

I am majoring in Sociology and Business Management. I chose Sociology because I took principles with Shawn Wick my first semester and just found it fascinating. I originally came in undecided so this was the first subject that really caught my eye and that I felt passionate about. I chose Business Management mainly because I thought it would be something I could be good at. I would love to combine these two someday and either work in the CSR department of a major corporation or for a Non-profit.

What’s the weirdest dream you have ever had? (or at least that you can remember)

My mom used to dream that she was hanging out with Michael Jordan when she was pregnant with me so it is kind of a dream I had I guess.

What’s the best concert you have ever been to?

This is a tough one because I have been able to see so many artists over the years. The music festival Lollapalooza gave me the chance to see Chance the Rapper live which is one of my favorites along with Vance Joy who is also up there on my list. I think my first concert ranks pretty high because it was Hilary Duff and you know she rocks, but I think my all-time favorite concert was going to see Hannah Montana when I was about 12.

If you could have the answer to any question, what would that question be?

Who is Sophie’s biological dad in Mamma Mia, Bill, Sam, or Harry?

What are different nicknames you have had in your life?

I have had many many nicknames throughout my life starting with Er-Bear from my family and Ed to get under my skin from my siblings because of my initials. I have had many different variations with my last name, too many to list. A recent one has used my middle name, either just being called Patricia or thanks to my trip to Mexico last summer, E Patty D. This one is my favorite to this day, thanks to Jenna Dille, Ali Gremminger, Regan Nelson, and Shawn Wick.

Describe your perfect sandwich.

My perfect sandwich starts with a soft and fresh pretzel bun with honey ham and provolone cheese. Then add some lettuce and cucumbers with honey mustard over it all and it just ends with deliciousness.

Describe the worst haircut you've ever had?

When I was in middle school I had a haircut that was a little bit higher than my shoulders and usually a middle part. Sometimes I thought it would look good to only straighten my bangs because it took too long to straighten all of my hair. That was a rough time and led to many awkward picture days throughout the years.

Favorite TV Show

One of my favorite TV shows is How I Met Your Mother. I just think it is hilarious and a fun show to follow in hearing the stories of how the main character Ted Moseby met his wife. I also really love the show New Girl because it is funny and Jessica Day is such an odd and cool gal.

What is it like to play for Coach Czipri?

Coach Czipri is very intense and detail oriented especially in practice, but very supportive and a big fan during matches. She is tough on us every day to make sure that we are improving little by little so that eventually by the end of the season we are ready. She wants the best out of us and the best for us. She also hates scrunchies and is now a married woman, in case you wanted to know something extra about her.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central volleyball?

The best part about being a part of Central volleyball are the best friends I have made because of this program. My teammates are such amazing people who have given me nothing but love and support. Coming into college having all of these wonderful people made the transition a little less difficult. I am so fortunate to be with these girls every day because they just make my day just a little bit better. We truly have something special with the support and love for one another.
