Why did you chose Central?

I chose Central because coach Koby got me connected with the other girls that were committed to play at Central in my grade also, so I had a feeling of comfort knowing that I wouldn’t show up and not know a single person.  It felt like I had a large group of friends before we even moved onto campus.  I also like the small close knit feeling of Central and Pella.

Favorite professor and why?

Shawn Wick is my favorite professor because he is a great teacher and very easy to learn from, but he also makes us think and challenge ourselves.  He is a very personable guy and genuinely cares about us as people not just students in his class.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

Scotty McCreery is my all-time favorite artist, he doesn’t have a song that I don’t love!  Other than that, I will listen to almost any artist I’m not too picky.

You’re majoring in Sociology because?

I’m really intrigued by knowing the reason why social life is the way it is.  Many people don’t notice the small factors in everyday social life but these factors have a big impact on us and that is so interesting to me.  Also, I believe the Sociology professors are the best people at Central so that is a great bonus!

What words of wisdom would you pass on to your childhood self?

I think I would tell myself to stay passionate about the things I love no matter what.  Also, you don’t have to have a plan for everything…it all ends up working out!

What is your favorite thing to spend money on?

I love spending money on trips, clothes, food, and buying gifts for other people.  All of those things make me happy!

Favorite player on U.S. national team

Mallory Pugh is my favorite because she is only 19 years old and is the second youngest women’s soccer Olympian in U.S. history…that blows my mind!

What is something you have always wanted to try but are too scared to?

I have always wanted to go snorkeling or be in one of those cages in the water while sharks are swimming around…but that will most likely NEVER happen.

What (fashion) trend do you wish would come back?

I wish the entire ‘Hippie” trend would come back, all of that is so fun!

If every time you entered a room a theme song played, what would the song be?

I would probably choose Wannabe by the Spice Girls.  It never gets old and I think it could get everyone in the room singing along!

Favorite TV Show

Greys Anatomy has always been one of my favorites but right now I really like Riverdale.

What’s one thing people might not know about Coach Roxworthy?

Oh where to start…Kelsey loves joking around with us!  She keeps practices light and fun but knows when she/we need to be serious and tuned in. She is very encouraging and believes in us as athletes, students, and people.  Kelsey is a great friend and we have really enjoyed having her as one of our coaches this year.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central soccer?

I love being a part of a family.  I have gained so many great friends over my 4 years on the team and it’s so great knowing that everybody wants to play for each other.  Another one of my favorite parts is the opportunities I have gotten.  I have been able to travel to Germany, the Netherlands, and Costa Rica because of this program and I have met so many people, learned so much, and had experiences I would have never gotten otherwise!

"Ten years from now I’ll...”

Hopefully be married, starting or already have a family, have a dog or two, and be a nurse so that I can go on vacations around the world!

Favorite food from Central Market

Country fried steak, mashed potatoes, and corn.
