Central College Athletics

Pauly Apostolopoulos (uh-PAHST-ul-lopp-uh-lus) joined the Central College men's soccer coaching staff in the spring of 2022 and has helped the Dutch continue their tradition of success within the American Rivers Conference.
           
In 2025, Apostolopoulos was part of the American Rivers Conference Coaching Staff of the Year after helping lead Central to a conference tournament semifinal appearance.

Prior to coaching, Apostolopoulos competed at a high level both domestically and internationally. After playing at Pella High School, he joined Derby County’s youth academy in England before continuing his development with the Colorado Rush Academy in Colorado. He later returned to England and competed for Brackley Town and Redditch United from 2014-18 before concluding his playing career abroad with Wellington Olympic AFC in New Zealand during the 2018-19 season.

Following his playing career, Apostolopoulos transitioned into coaching, leading the Iowa Rush U19 boys team to the 2022 Iowa Presidents Cup championship. He has since focused on player development, recruiting, and helping build a competitive culture at the collegiate level.

Apostolopoulos brings a unique perspective to coaching through his experience in professional and academy environments across multiple countries, combining a global playing background with a passion for developing student-athletes and advancing successful programs.
