Max Race joined the Central football staff as an assistant coach in 2023, working with the cornerbacks and as the recruiting coordinator.

Race previously served as assistant defensive backs coach at Winona State University (Minn.) for a year after spending three seasons as a volunteer assistant with the defensive line at the University of North Dakota.
           
A Cedarburg, Wisconsin native, Race played quarterback at Valley City State University (N.D.), then spent a season North Dakota State College of Science, leading his squad to a 9-2 record and receiving an A.A. degree. He completed his studies at North Dakota in 2021.
     

He and his wife, Maren, have one daughter.

Winona State University
